via mavis was a bulgarian jazz trio, formed in 2019, consisting of victoria kirilova (double bass), viktor benev (malletKAT) and martin hafizi (drums). its music has classical, traditional bulgarian, rock, pop and electronic music elements. it lists esbjörn svensson trio, milcho leviev and brad mehldau as main influences. its style revolves around the mixture of electronic and acoustic sounds, using conventional jazz as a common language.

aerial perspectives is a display of the trio's musical references, consisting of eight original compositions. as a discographic studio work, the album is marked by multi-tracking and post-production, contrary to the live performances of the band, underlining the will of the members to present unique material through both mediums.
